Ruti Ingerman (MSW, RSW)

Ruthi is a registered clinical social worker in Ontario with a Master's degree (MSW). She is also professionally trained as an arts therapist. Ruthy has extensive experience providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and parents, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, life crises, immigration, interpersonal relationships, social and behavioral difficulties, as well as sexual and gender identity. In recent years, Ruthy has been working in private practice with adults, young adults, parents, and adolescents. Ruthy integrates various therapeutic approaches, primarily psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and play therapy.
Therapeutic Approach and Philosophy
Ruti integrates psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Skills Therapy for parents, and play and arts therapy for children. She believes in creating a safe therapeutic space to collaboratively explore and understand patterns, identity aspects, needs, and skills, fostering balance, personal growth, and improved interpersonal and family relationships.

Personal Journey
Ruti began her professional career as a drama therapist in Israel, specializing in working with children and parents in the educational system. After moving to Toronto over 20 years ago, she completed her Master's degree in Clinical Social Work. Since then, she has spent approximately 15 years working within the children's and adolescents' mental health system in Toronto and the surrounding area. This role involved therapy and support services in collaboration with schools, universities, hospitals, and social services in Ontario.
In recent years, Ruti has transitioned to private practice, working primarily with adults and parents. As an Israeli and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Ruti has particular interest and extensive experience working with the Israeli and LGBTQ+ communities.
