Supporting newcomer families in the education system

Untitled design (15).png

The transition from Israel’s education system to Ontario’s can be challenging for children and their families.

The resources and support available in Ontario for children with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, and academic difficulties differ greatly from those in Israel.

As a result, many families find themselves facing gaps in knowledge, language, and the unfamiliar structure of a new system.

We help families bridge these gaps, navigate the process, and ensure children receive professional, tailored support

What to expect?

We will create a Personalized Plan

In our first meeting, we collect information that includes reviewing previous reports, identifying emotional, academic, and social needs, and developing a practical plan tailored to your child.

We will help navigate educational system in Ontario

We guide families through Ontario’s education system, explain available resources, help summarize assessments from Israel, conduct updated assessments when needed, and provide support in communicating with schools and accessing services.

We will provide parental guidance and emotional support

Our team of specialists, including psychologists and social workers will work closely with families to provide strategies for coping with the transition, strengthening emotional and social skills, and building your child’s confidence and independence. If needed we will refer to completing services such speech pathology and occupational therapy.

We are here for you with ongoing support along the way

Our involvement doesn’t end after the our program completed. We remain available for consultations and continued support, recognizing that new challenges and needs may arise over time.

Hands-on help at school

We can provide direct support within the school environment to help to advocate for accommodations, speaking with school staff, and help ensure an optimal daily school experience for your child.

Who is this for?

  • Families who have recently arrived in Ontario and need guidance and professional support in navigating the Canadian education system.

  • Children diagnosed in Israel with learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional challenges, or social difficulties.

  • Families who feel they need extra support to ease the adjustment process within the education system.
